"JitsTape-Volume 1"
"Got Bars" (2010)
I gathered some of my top UNRELEASED tracks from 2005 to 2009 and decided to release them on a seperate project. I produced a few of these tracks but the rest were ripped from other producers... hope I did them justice... you tell me.
"Re-Introduction of Mr. 6" (2009)
In 2008 and early 2009, Six6Five teamed up with JitSifu aka GuWhok J to create a small EP that was supposed to go to Six6Five's 2009 album. Six6Five's album was never released, but YzGuy Independent Music wanted to expose Six6Five's lyrical talent to the WORLD!
"YzGuy Radio" -Associates Ch. 2 (2009)
So after pushing and promoting 3 projects... I became confident that my skills as a producer was evovling. I decided to create the 2nd project in 'The Associates' series. Again, I contacted the MCs I've worked with on the 1st 'Associates'... but I also reached out to a few more MCs around my city. This included...
Six6Five, Kool Guy w/EaZe, Emassin, San Quinn, Hopie Spitshard, Bret Falco, emceeGRENDEL, Grim Reap, Syloe, CeeRock, Zumbi (MC Zion)Beetiki, BarNone, SelfOne and more. Hope y'all enjoy.
"Free Speech" -journal entry 5
Ever since I purchased my studio back in 2005, I was literally addicted to making music. So even though I was still promoting my 2006 project and my 2007 solo LP by doing shows and marketing on the street level and the internet, I was already creating my next solo album.
So throughout 2007 and the first half of 2008 I was producing and recording 'FREE SPEECH -journal entry 5'. In this album, there were a lot of things going on in the world, including a historical presidential election. I wanted to accurately represent my point of view on the world. This was a very personal album to me, so I didn't feature any MCs on it. Hope y'all enjoy.
"The Language Arts" -journal entry 4 (2007)
During the whole year of 2006 while I was promoting 'The Associates 1' mixtape I was also keeping busy creating my solo LP. I wanted my solo LP to accurately represent my determination to get an audience/following. I found it important because I felt I had many messages I wanted to spread to my community and the world.
Finally in October 2007, I released 'The Language Arts -journal entry 3'... my first solo album produced solely by me. People ask me, "J, why do you call it 'journal entry 4? What happened to journal entries 1-2-3?". Well, it's because I recorded 3 other projects in other studios... but I never released it. I featured a few MCs I knew. Hope y'all enjoy.
"Rise of A Union" -Associates Ch. 1 (2006)
In 2005 I finally gathered enough money to purchase a little home recording studio. The programs I utilized to create my beats were Fruity Loops and Acid. After a whole year of producing beats I finally selected the ones I deemed to be the highest quality and represented me the best.
For my first project I released in April 2006 (Rise of a Union- Associates Ch.1), I decided to create an album to showcase the MCs that I've worked with in the past as well as the MCs that I met during my time in the scene. This included...
Grim Reap, Syloe, emceeGRENDEL, Bret Falco, Kool Guy w/Eaze, Hopie Spitshard, Deceptik 1 and few singers too.
I decided that this would be the beginning of a series of mixtapes I will be releasing throughout the course of my time here. The reason I surnamed the project 'The Associates' is because this project was mainly to showcase the MCs that I work with. My solo projects would be considered seperate.
